Congress takes on Naidu Government

Party cadre stages State-wide protests against delay in implementing loan waiver. While farmers were unable to get insurance coverage for their kharif crop in view of delay in advancement of fresh crop loans, SHG women were worried over notices from banks blacklisting their groups.

Leaders and activists of the Opposition Congress staged State-wide protests demanding that the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu led State government take steps to completely waive loans obtained by farmers, Dwcra women and handloom weavers. The leaders said the government should keep its word and waive all the loans obtained by these sections. APCC president N.Raghuveera Reddy led the party in staging a protest demonstration in Ongole.

The opposition Congress party will not hesitate to move the Election Commission if the ruling TDP went back on its promise to waive all loans of farmers, Dwcra women and handloom weavers, Pradesh Congress Chief N. Raghuveera Reddy said.

While farmers were unable to get insurance coverage for their kharif crop in view of delay in advancement of fresh crop loans, SHG women were worried over notices from banks blacklisting their groups. ''We will fight to the finish to ensure justice to these vulnerable sections of people,'' he asserted before submitting a memorandum to Collector G.S.R.K.R.Vijaykumar . DCC President M.Ugra Narasimha Reddy and other leaders accompanied the PCC chief. Former Union Minister Killi Kruparani, former minister Kondru Muralimohan, DCC president Dola Jagan and others raised slogans against the government in Srikakulam and submitted a memorandum to Collector Gaurav Uppal.

In Kadapa, former Minister Mohammad Ahmedullah and District Congress Committee President Shaik Nazeer Basha staged a protest in front of the Collectorate. In Chittoor, former Madanapalle MLA Shajahan Basha led activists in a protest.
