‘Inspectors should ensure Aadhaar-based attendance’

Giving a piece of mind: Municipal Commissioner J. Nivas inspecting garbage bins at Nimmathota Centre in Vijayawada on Thursday.

Municipal Commissioner J. Nivas on Thursday warned sanitation inspectors of disciplinary action if they failed to make sure all the workers properly registered their attendance before taking up the work allotted.

Mr. Nivas inspected the third and seventh sanitation divisions in the city and found that attendance of workers was being manually maintained.

He asked the authorities concerned to make sure that Aadhaar-based attendance was taken before workers left to attend to work allotted. Disciplinary action would be initiated against those neglecting sanitation work.
