Penalises supervisor during a surprise visit to the hospital

Collector Kona Sasidhar on Thursday gave a piece of his mind to the personnel at the Government General Hospital here making it clear that he would not spare any laxity on their part.

Expressing his ire at the sanitary supervisor, Mr. Sasidhar, he imposed a penalty of ₹1.60 lakh during a sudden visit. He was accompanied by the Superintendent, GGH, D.S. Raju Naidu, and engineering staff.

Mr. Sasidhar, who spent close to three hours in the hospital, said the sanitary condition was appalling and asked the personnel to immediately rectify it.

The Collector also reviewed the performance of the doctors and said he would not spare anyone who worked against the interests of the hospital. He also asked the superintendent to prepare a detailed estimate of the works necessary to improve the functioning of the hospital.
