CM to participate in Yoga Day event in city

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will participate in the International Yoga Day programme to be held at the A1 Convention Centre here from 7 a.m. on Sunday, according to Krishna district Collector Babu A. The Collector said in a press release that nearly 2,000 boys and girls would perform yoga to mark the global event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech will be telecast live from Delhi and it will be followed by the Chief Minister’s address to the participants.

The Union government has decided to set up a Central Yoga and Naturopathy Research Institute in Krishna district at a cost of nearly Rs.100 crore. The district administration has been told to earmark 25 acres of land for it, according to Ayush Commissioner D. Nalini Mohan.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, he said the district administration has identified land at Agiripalli in the district.
