City lad selected for archery team

City lad Bommadevara Dhiraj has been selected to be a part of the recurve Men’s Archery team that will be representing India at the Senior Asia Archery Championship in Bangkok in November this year.

As a part of the three-day trials conducted at the Sports Authority of India, Sonipat, Haryana, Dhiraj passed all the stipulated selection rounds with a great rank and has been selected to the team.

Dhiraj, who was previosuly tutored by the late Indian archer and coach Cherukuri Lenin at the Cherukuri Volga Archery Academy in the city, was into archery since childhood and gradually climbed up the ranks with this performance. He is currently a second-year student at the SRR & CVR Government Degree College.
