Children’s Day celebrated with gusto

The Children’s Day was celebrated in a grand manner in the schools and institutions working for the welfare and development of children in the city on Thursday.

Forum for Child Rights organised the day and Childline Dosti at RCM Church premises in Pezzonipeta here.

Students’ gesture

The students of VPS Public School set an example by donating Rs.1 lakh to underprivileged children and old age homes. The donations were handed over to Prem Nikethan, a home for mentally challenged children (Ibrahimpatnam) and Vijaya Mary Blind School, Madonna School for Deaf and Dumb and an old age home.

Nalanda Degree College students organised programmes at Ammavodi to celebrate the day. Nalanda Vidya Niketan conducted fancy dress competition for children, while teachers performed dances etc. to entertain the children.

Nalanda Srijanotsav 2013 was also conducted. Cultural programmes were conducted at N. St. Mathews Public School. Competitions were conducted in various streams for parents and grandparents of students at Delhi Public School as part of Dayout C Parents @School.

AMISD conducted an awareness rally on child education, child labour and child abuse near K R Market. The students and teachers of SKVV Hindu High School took part in the rally. Children’s day was celebrated at Sri Chaitanya Day Scholars Mahila Kalasala.
