In our journey towards achieving world harmony, where better to start than at home? This begins with harmony between husband and wife, parent, and child and between siblings.

Family harmony is the primary need to establish harmony in society. Recognising this need, members of Rotary Club of Vijayawada Visionary, in association with the city-based Top Gear event management, plan to organise ‘Rotary Family Treasure Hunt’, a car rally to promote family harmony and safe driving on July 8.

The contest is open for participation to those above 18 years of age.

The rally will be flagged off at Siddhartha Arts College premises and the participants will have to cover a distance of 20 kms ride, traversing through city roads in search of the ‘treasure’.

Two persons will be allowed in each vehicle. The winning pair will be crowned as ‘Winner on the Wheels 2012’. The Top Gear event management had been conducting the rally in the past with title “Women on Wheels” drawing participation of enthusiastic women from across the city who are in love with speed machines.

“The Rotary Club is celebrating ‘family month’. In this jet age where machines play a dominant roles, human emotions which play crucial role in bonding a family, have taken a back seat. To promote family values and the much-needed road safety, we have embarked on this programme,” says Jaisree Gupta, the event manager of Top Gear.

While the participants are away racing against one-another and criss-crossing city roads, the audience at the venue will be treated on a cultural programme.

“We want to limit the entries on first-cum-first-serve basis to maintain order”, says Ms. Gupta. Interested pairs can register their names by calling 9885033567 or 8712739676.
