Blood donation camp organised

Employees and customers of Best Price Modern Wholesale store here, owned and operated by Bharti Walmart Pvt. Ltd, organised a blood donation camp at the store located near Nidamanuru on the NH-5.

At the camp organised in association with the Lions Club on Wednesday, more than 55 employees came forward and donated blood apart from a few Best Price customers. The camp was part of the company's goal of serving its customers beyond the store and to be the ‘store of the community', a press release said here on Friday. The blood collected would be given free of cost to needy patients in the city, it said. All donors were given refreshment, certificates of appreciation, and blood-donor card.

Glaucoma rally

As part of the World Glaucoma Week, Vasan Eye Care Hospital conducted Glaucoma Awareness Rally on Friday by taking out a march from Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium to the hospital.

Municipal Commissioner G. Ravi Babu, who was the guest, appreciated the efforts of the hospital in creating awareness among public.

Others who participated included members of Indira Gandhi Stadium Walkers' Club, Siddartha Walkers' Club, Loyola Walkers' Club, Krishna District Walkers' Club, and Patamata Walkers' Club.
