Banks can fulfil Gandhian ideals: Vijayawada MP

Banks can promote the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi by fulfilling the needs of the people and also by winning their confidence, Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, said.

Participating in the 60 National Cooperative Week celebrations being organised by the Gandhi Cooperative Urban Bank in Vijayawada on Wednesday Mr. Rajagopal said that the urban bank won the confidence of its customers and beneficiaries by conducting business with a great deal of financial discipline. He lauded the bank president Vemuri Basava Koteswara Rao for the diligence he was showing not only in mobilising deposits, but also in giving loans to deserving candidates.

Visakhapatnam Cooperative Urban Bank president Chalasani Raghavendra Rao unfurled the seven-coloured flag of the cooperative movement at the ninth branch of the urban bank in Ganapati Road, Kothapet, to make the beginning of the Cooperative Week celebrations.

Vijayawada West MLA Vellampalli Srinivas, District Audit Officer Ch.Sailaja, Vijayawada divisional Cooperative officer Sayed Mastanvalli, TDP leader Buddha Venkanna, CPI(M) leader Ch.Babu Rao, CPI leader D.Sankar, BJP leader Siva Kumar, Swasakthi Mercantile Bank president G.V.Rama Rao, and Adarsh Cooperative Urban bank president Madhan Gopala Swamy participated.
