‘Dial 100’ motor cycles launched

Guntur Urban Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar on Tuesday unveiled the first batch of `Dial 100,‘ motor cycles allotted to Guntur Urban Police District.

The new series of 10 motor cycles would be allotted to law and order and traffic police wings and would help them reach to the scene of crime or a place affected by traffic snarls easily. Policemen manning the vehicles would also be provided with radio sets to receive information about the complaints registered through the ‘Dial 100’ facility.

Speaking on the occasion, the SP said that more number of vehicles would be allotted to Guntur Urban Police District in the days to come. In addition to the existing infrastructure, the Urban Police was making efforts to acquire surveillance cameras. The police have also identified key locations for installing the cameras and link them to police control room for better monitoring.
