APCOST celebrates ‘Srujanotsav 2017’

Officials distribute prizes to students

Officials giving away prizes to students who won prizes in competitions held in connection with the National Science Day celebrations, in Vijayawada on Monday.

The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Science and Technology (APCOST) in association with the Education Department conducted ‘Srujanotsav-2017’, in connection with National Science Day celebrations here on Monday. APCOST, a wing of Department of Environment, Forests, Science and Technology of the State government, conducted essay writing, elocution and drawing competitions for various school children at school, mandal, division and district levels, on the occasion.

A seminar was organised on ‘Utilisation of Digital Technology in Teaching and Learning Process’. About 150 science teachers working in different schools in the region participated, said APCOST member-secretary B. Varaprasada Rao.

Resource person Lakshman Suri addressed the teachers on digital technology, e-class teaching, latest equipment in science laboratories and other topics. Later, APCOST officials B. Nageswara Rao, District Science Coordinator M. Hussain, District Science Officer Hema Prasad and others distributed prizes to the winners in various competitions.

Mr. Varaprasada Rao said such programmes will help teachers to exchange their knowledge on different teaching methods and bring out the hidden talent among the children.
