Employees working in different departments urge the State Government not to extend the 60 years retirement benefit to Telangana employees opting to work in Andhra Pradesh.
The Andhra Pradesh Government has extended the retirement age to 60 years to government employees. Post bifurcation, many Telangana employees were opting to work in Andhra Pradesh to enjoy this benefit, said T. Sanjeeva Rayudu, general secretary of A.P. Government Life Insurance Department NGOs State Association.
In all, 150 employees work in the A.P. Government Life Insurance Department. Alleging foul play in allotment of employees post bifurcation, association president K.A. Ram Prasad Rao said four Deputy Directors, one Assistant Director and three Superintendents hailing from Telangana were allotted to Andhra Pradesh.

This would lead to a few problems, especially depriving promotions to the existing employees working in Andhra Pradesh. Similarly, three Assistant Directors of Andhra Pradesh have been allotted to Telangana. The issue will be taken up with Kamalnathan Committee and a representation would be submitted to the committee to address such issues, he added.
Meanwhile, the Indian Prosthodontic Society members in the State have decided to establish Andhra Pradesh State branch post bifurcation. Dr. A. Venkat Reddy has been elected as the new president and Dr. P. Srinivas as the secretary of the new State branch.
