ANU honours AIR station director

Vijayawada All India Radio station director Mangalagiri Aditya Prasad has been selected by Acharya Nagarjuna University for the ‘ANU Pratibha Award' for his contribution in field of music and broadcasting. It will presented to him at the 35th Foundation Day celebration of ANU to be organised on campus on September 11.

Mr. Prasad worked as a programme officer with All India Radio for over 30 years. His thematic orchestral composition ‘Nishiddharavali' won a national award. He has done research on the work of Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao and on the “Manifestation-Adaptation Theory” of music and presented papers on the subjects at several symposia. The Commonwealth Broadcasting Association selected his Radio “Prachara Sabha” project for the Rolls Royce Award in 2002 and invited him for the Commonwealth meet that year.
