AITA tennis tourney gets under way in Guntur

Budding local Tennis players had another opportunity to compete with the players of other regions as the All India Tennis Association Talent Series Tennis Tournament for U-12 boys and girls got under way at the NTR Municipal Tennis Courts in Guntur on Saturday.

The tourney was being organised by Global Tennis Foundation in association with Guntur District Tennis Association.

Disha Diagnostics Centre managing director and pathologist Latif opened the tournament. Secretary of foundation G. Siva Prasad was also present.

More than 50 players from various states were taking part in the tourney.

Secretary of tennis association K.S.N. Chary said the tourneys like these would unearth local talent and help them improve their game.

SNK Granite Exports managing partner Sk. Nayub Kamal promised support to hosting tennis tourneys in future.

In the preliminary rounds, G. Venkat Swami Naidu, Md. Sohail, Y. Hitesh, M. Varun Kumar, J. Yeshwanth, Tarun, D. Abhinav entered the second round and in girl’s category, Lella Aasrita and Ch. Gnansri entered the second rounds.
