Ahimsa Rally marks Mahavir Jayanti

Streets in One-Town area saw members of the Jain community taking out the ‘Ahimsa Rally’ marking the 2617th birth anniversary of Lord Mahavir on Thursday. Thousands of the community members including kids and senior citizens took part in the rally spreading Mahaveer’s message of Ahimsa. The rally organised by the Jain Samaj was flagged off by Jain monks at the Gandhi Municipal High School on BRP Road. The members went through the Convent Road, Tarapet, Main Bazaar, Low bridge, KR Market, Jenda Chettu Centre, Hindu High School Road, Samrang Chowk and later completed the rally at the high school where it began.

Earlier addressing the gathering at the public meeting in Gandhi Municipal High School premises, the spiritual leaders said that Jainism had embraced the concept of ‘live and let live’ without harming any creature on earth.
