AAP begins two-day membership drive at KBN College

The Aam Aadmi Party has launched a two-day membership drive at Kakaraparti Bhavanarayana College here on Friday.

The drive is open to all and not limited only to students, said AAP Krishna district preparatory committee member G. Phani Raju.

According to him about 400 people have joined the party, and many more have taken the questionnaire to study, and is expected to get back on Saturday.

Replicating the way AAP had gone about in building its member base in Delhi, the party cadres here also have designed a questionnaire not only to get a feedback about the party from the people but also understand the local problems.

“Every person who intends to join the AAP has to fill in the questionnaire. The basic idea is that the person has to understand the ideology of the party and we have to get a clear picture of the person who intends to join us. That is why we have given them time to read and fill in the questionnaire,” said Mr. Phani Raju.

According to him, Mr. Yogendra Yadav who is taking special interest in Andhra Pradesh, has asked its existing members to focus on the youth force.

“The youth understands us better. People above 40 years are loyal to some political party and it is difficult to break the loyalty,” said Mr. Phani Raju.

Apart from conducting the drive at KBN College, a similar two-day drive is also being held at Wynchipet in the Old Town area.
