Youth drowns in Krishna

A 19-year-old youth drowned in the Krishna river, while two others were rescued by the fishermen present at the spot. The incident occurred at Viswanadhapalli village in Koduru mandal on Sunday. The victim was identified as P. Ashok. The body was later fished out.

According to Koduru Sub-Inspector, Satyanarayana Murthy, the trio from Chilakalapudi village near Machilipatnam, went to Viswanadhapalli village to participate in the local goddess Nancharamma festival jatara and later went for a swim, when Ashok drowned.
