The body of an infant was found in Eluru Canal at Hanumanpet in the city on Friday. Relatives of the baby boy kidnapped from Old Government Hospital rushed to the spot and observed the features of the body floating in the canal. They confirmed that the baby was not theirs. Police rushed to the spot and recovered the body. In another incident, sanitary staff identified the body of a female baby in a rainage at Sundarammapeta in Vuyyuru town on Friday. “The baby was born premature and we recovered the body. A case has been registered,” said Vuyyuru Town SI D.S. Sudhakar.
