Two-day fest off to a colourful start

More than 100 Telugu poets honoured by Dy. CM

The two-day ‘Sri Krishnadevaraya Mahotsavam’ began at the Srikakulandhra Mahavishnu temple in Krishna district on a grand note on Saturday.

More than 100 Telugu poets were felicitated in the programme which was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa. He said the government had given due priority to the promotion of Telugu language and culture.

Stating that awareness of the native culture and traditions was increasing in the young generation, Mr. Chinarajappa said a majority of the parents were willing to enrol their children in Kuchipudi dance classes.

Amukta Malyada . Earlier, the Deputy CM honoured Jnanpith Moortidevi award winner Kolakaluri Enoch for his contribution to Telugu literature.
