Two engineers – Pradeep Chandra and Raghu - belonging to Currency Nagar in Vijayawada were suspected to be kidnapped near Dimapur in Nagaland two days ago. They are working for a private construction company in the northeastern state and were believed to be abducted by militants for a ransom.
According to preliminary information, Chandra and Raghu were returning to Vijayawada on July 27 along with a fellow employee and were picked up by militants at night.
The third person managed to escape and informed his colleagues’ families about the incident. A sum of Rs 20 crore was reportedly demanded by the militants.

It was just over a month ago that an engineer from Cheemakurti in Prakasam district was kidnapped and released some time later after intense negotiations with his captors.
