Opportunities galore for jewellery designers in fashion world as the Indian market was continuously expanding in this sector, said Rumeet Chandhok, Hyderabad-based design consultant, addressing a seminar on ‘Jewellery Designing and Gems' at Samana Institute of Fashion Technology on Saturday.
The seminar was conducted on the occasion of launching of a two-month-long course in jewellery designing. The SIFT, which is a franchise of Lakhotia Institute of Design, offers this course for a fee of Rs. 25,000.
Apart from training in designing of jewellery, students will also be taught how to explore the business opportunities and customer relation management, said Ms. Chandhok. Successful candidates in the course will be given certificates by the Department of Technical Education and guidance to get jobs with attractive salaries, said Samana Moosavi, CEO of the institute.
