On the occasion of the New Year and the Happy Sunday, M.G. Road near the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium turned vibrant with non-stop celebrations from late evening of Saturday to Sunday morning.
A couple of hours after the New Year celebrations ended, the special dais set up across the M.G. Road again witnessed dances and other activity as college students took it over.
Members of the Andhra Cycling Association took out a cycle rally while others played games like shuttle badminton, throw ball, and volleyball. Yoga and meditation were practised by enthusiasts.

The cultural performances by students of the KL University, SRK Institute of Technology and others enthralled the onlookers.
Skits and dances
Earlier in the midnight, thousands of people gathered at the venue to witness professional artists roped in by the civic body performing skits and dances.

The event, anchored by actress Hairteja though witnessed crowds in the beginning picked up in the midnight. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who was supposed to visit the venue and celebrate New Year skipped it in the last minute.
Meanwhile, chaotic situation prevailed on M.G. Road due to blockade of the roads leading to the stadium.
While one side of the road opposite the stadium was entirely used for dais, the other side was filled with people who gathered in large numbers.
As the road was blocked by the police, motorists were forced to take alternative routes from Saturday evening to Sunday morning. In a riot of celebrations, motorcyclists in large numbers rallied on the roads until 1 a.m.
