Naidu hosts Iftar in Guntur

: The State government hosted Iftar to Muslim brethren in Guntur on Friday. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, his Cabinet colleagues, Speaker Kodela Sivaprsada Rao and others took part in the Ramzan celebrations.

Mr. Naidu said that the government was committed to the welfare of Muslims. “It gives me immense pleasure to celebrate Ramzan for the first time in the capital region. The government is offering Ramzan Tofa (gift). No other State is offering such gifts to the Muslims. The government is extending stipend to Muslim students, Rs. 5,000 to Imams, and Rs. 3,000 to Mazars. The government will construct Haj houses in Kadapa and Vijayawada,” he said.

The government earmarked a budget of Rs. 750 crore for Muslim welfare in the budget. The district administration made elaborate arrangements for Iftar in Guntur. A huge pandal was set up at the venue where the party was hosted. Separate enclosures were set up for VVIPs, VIPs and others.
