Kodela urges NRIs to embrace swagrama seva

Taking forward the initiative of the Andhra Pradesh Government to boost public-private partnership model in school education sector, Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad Rao is going around American cities to mobilise NRI investments.

Mr. Siva Prasad Rao has already visited Charlotte in North Carolina, Phoenix in Arizona, Dallas and Houston in Texas and Detroit, interacting with the Telugu NRIs and explaining to them the dynamic initiatives of the Government.

swagrama seva, service to their native villages by taking up developmental projects related to construction of schools and roads and improving the health and education scenario. Accompanied by Jayaram Komati, Special Representative of Government of Andhra Pradesh for North America, Mr. Siva Prasad Rao is scheduled to visit New Jersey, New York, the Silicon Valley in California and Chicago soon.

In Dallas, an NRI Kondragunta Chalapathi Rao handed over a cheque of Rs. 5 lakh towards his contribution for the State initiative to set up 4,000 digital classrooms in the presence of former TANA president Gangadhar Nadella and a few other NRIs Dr. Raghavendra Prasad, Navaneeta Krishna and Srikanth Polavarapu. In Charlotte, commitments for 50 digital classrooms have been made, according to sources.
