Bowled over by the richness of paintings on ‘biodiversity’ at an exhibition, Andhra Pradesh Grandhalaya Parishad Chairman Turlapati Kutumba Rao said the CoP 11 conference venue at Hyderabad would have been the best venue for holding such a photo exhibition.

Inaugurating the painting workshop organised by Academy of Creative Arts on Monday, Mr. Rao said he was not aware of the concept of biodiversity till recently.

Through this exhibition even a common man will be able to understand the concept, he added.

More than 20 artists from Krishna, Guntur, East and West Godavari and other districts are participating in the workshop-cum -exhibition.

“As paintings convey more than speeches, we organised the workshop to create awareness among people about the need for protecting our ecosystem”, said academy president T. Venkat Rao. Such programmes also promote unity among artists, he added.

The works of artists will be displayed at the Anil Kumar Swathi Hall in Book Festival Society library till Tuesday.
