Essentials sent to cyclone-hit areas

The district administration has despatched more than 22.44 tonnes of vegetables and 1.3 lakh candles to the cyclone-hit areas in Visakhapatnam and neighbouring districts.

The relief materials, donated by MLA Bode Prasad and Krishna District ZP Chairperson Gadde Anuradha, were transported in C-130 and two AN-32 cargo aircraft, said Gannavaram Tahasildhar M. Madhuri.

Meanwhile, two engineers from the civil and electrical departments at the Gannavaram airport were sent for carrying out repair works at the Visakhapatnam airport. The Andhra Chamber of Commerce and Industry Federation donated Rs. 2 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
