The Krishna district administration is making foolproof arrangements to ensure a satisfactory ‘darshan’ of the presiding deity, goddess Kanakadurga, for the common man during the Dasara festivities, according to district in charge Minister Thota Narasimham.
The Minister in Vijayawada on Tuesday reviewed the arrangements being made for the festival. The authorities were asked to ensure that no devotee faced hardship during the festival.
The devotees, more particularly Bhavanis, come from far off places on foot. The authorities should keep their sentiments in mind before they act. The staff on duty should respond in a positive manner, the Minister said, adding, “All they expect is a good darshan. It should be accorded top priority.”

The Minister said all works, except Hamsavahanam, would be completed in the next 10 days. Deadline was set for each work. Roads leading to the Kanakadurga temple would be spruced up for the festival. Additional “free buses” would be plied from Vinayaka temple on the Canal Road to Kummaripalem for the benefit of physically challenged and aged persons. A free bus from Ashoka Pillar to Indrakeeladri would also be operated for the benefit of the physically challenged and aged persons.
The temple management was making arrangements for supplying water sachets and extending medical assistance to devotees in queue, the Minister said. Sanitation would be accorded top priority as thousands of people throng Indrakeeladri during the festival, he said.
