Tamilnadu Governor K. Rosaiah has said that resolving power crisis has been the top priority of both the Central and State Governments.
Energy management and production would be the focal areas in the future and farmers and industrialists should have awareness about efficient energy management practices, Dr. Rosaiah said at a public meeting after inaugurating a slew of developmental works taken up with grants to the tune of Rs.66.55 crore in Bapatla Assembly constituency on Monday.
Incentives for boosting solar energy should be doubled to tap prospective investment in these areas, he observed.

Earlier, Dr. Rosaiah inaugurated the Comprehensive Protected Water Project grounded at a cost of Rs15.31 crore, storm water drainage system (Rs.48 Crore) and a 33/11 K.V Sub Station at a cost of Rs.1.50 crore.
The lion’s share of the water scheme was borne by Centre which granted Rs.11.72 crore. The State Government’s share was Rs.1.31 crore while the Bapatla Municipal Corporation chipped in with Rs.2.12 crore.
The Storm Water Drainage system linking all the major and minor outfall drains was taken up at a cost of Rs.48 crore during the tenure of the then Union Minister for Urban Development, S. Jaipal Reddy.

The Centre contributed Rs.39.17 crore, while the State Government and BMC chipped in with Rs.4.90 crore each.
He also inaugurated a 33/11 KV substation built at a cost of Rs.1.50 crore.
Former Minister and Bapatla MLA Gade Venkat Reddy said that Municipal High School would get a face lift with a grant of Rs.20 lakh.
Minister for Cooperation, Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy, MLC Singam Basavapunniah, Joint Collector N. Yuvaraj and other officers were present.
