Keeping in view the shelf life of laddu prasadam, Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam has introduced dry fruit prasadam. A 50-gram packet costs Rs. 15. It consists of cashew, raisins, almonds, dry dates and dry coconut.

The temple sold nearly 900 packets in the last three days. The temple introduced the prasadam as devotees had been complaining about the laddu shelf life. Devotees, who visit many temples at one go, will not return their home before 10 to 15 days. So, the laddu prasadam would become stale or dry. Hence the dry fruit prasadam, said Achutaramaiah, temple employee.
