Seventeen-year-old K. Preran, a NCC cadet from Andhra Directorate, is on cloud nine. He is the only cadet from the State who was selected to be in the delegation that will visit Republic of Turkmenistan from October 25 to 30.

In January early this year, Preran participated in the Annual NCC Republic Day programme and Prime Minister’s Rally in New Delhi and obtained a certificate. Many cadets from across the country participated in the annual NCC Republic Day programme and only a few got selected to be a part of the delegations which will be visiting different countries, says Preran, studying second year Intermediate at Andhra Loyola College in the city.

Cadets have to clear different exams at unit, battalion and group levels and directorate to make it to the annual NCC Republic Day programme. It was a different experience to participate in the event and Indian Army, Navy and Air Force chiefs visited our camps, he said. Preran will be part of a delegation that consists of five cadets from other States and one officer. The delegation will have an opportunity to meet Prime Minister, service chiefs of the host country, besides sight seeing.
