Car falls on oncoming car killing two

A rashly driven car rammed the median at Jubilee Hills before it flung into the air and fell on an oncoming car on the other side, killing two persons and injuring two more on Monday.

Baljit Gurna, 53, software professional of CMC company, her office worker, Jayaraj, 32, colleague Nagarjuna started off from their office in Hi-tec city in a Tata Indica of the office driven by Anjaneyulu. They were heading towards Jubilee Hills check-post and taking a turn at Odyssey when a Honda Accord car being rashly driven by Anirudh, an engineering student, came from the opposite direction on the other side of the median.

“Anirudh was apparently over-speeding and lost control. He rammed the divider at the turning,” the police said. The car got hurled into the air due to the impact of the collision and fell on the Indica on the other side.

Ms. Gurna and Mr. Jayaraj, who were sitting on the rear seat got crushed under the Honda Accord and died on the spot. Nagarjuna suffered serious wounds on his head and was admitted to Gandhi Hospital. Doctors said his condition was critical. Anjaneyulu escaped with minor injuries.

Police said Anirudh too sustained injuries and was admitted to Apollo Hospital. A case under Section 304-A of the IPC was registered against him.
