Anjaneyulu assumes office

To draw up priorities after studying the situation

P. Sitharama Anjaneyulu of the IPS 1992 batch assumed office as city Police Commissioner here on Friday.

He worked as Joint Commissioner (coordination and security) in Hyderabad till recently.

After taking over the charge from his predecessor and batch mate K.V. Rajendranath Reddy, Mr. Anjaneyulu told the media that he had no fixed priorities in discharging duties.

“Let me understand the situation here, which will help me chalk out priorities and work accordingly,” he said.

Assuring to continue the initiatives such as e-challan system to regulate the violators of road rules and sector system for free division of work among the police officials that were introduced by his predecessors, Mr. Anjaneyulu said Mr. Reddy had briefed him about a few local issues. “I am available to the public round-the-clock and people can call me on my mobile numbers 94400-50945 or 98499-56000 any time.”

Expressing happiness over the successful completion of his two-year tenure here as Police Commissioner, Mr. Reddy told the media that he was satisfied with what he had achieved here.

“This city and the people here have a special place in my heart,” he said after handing over the charge to his successor.

Police officials and general public welcomed Mr. Anjaneyulu with flower bouquets and wished him all success.
