A five-member gang, including a juvenile, who trapped several girls on the pretext of love and filmed their nude photographs to blackmail them, were arrested by the police on Saturday.
The incident came to light when a victim approached police seeking protection. Later, the police rounded up the culprits and seized the obscene material and cell phones from them.
City Police Commissioner A.B. Venkateswara Rao said the accused – N. Sairam, P. Abhilash Kumar, Shaik Munna and P. Deepak – all residents of the city, lured at least ten girls and women with their suave talk. Two of the accused, including the juvenile, are pursuing Intermediate, while the remaining are engaged in various professions. “We are trying get to the bottom of the case to find out if more women are involved,” said Mr. Rao.
