April 01, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - TIRUCHI:

Students of Kongunadu College of Engineering at Tholurpatti created a massive rangoli, made of 5500 kg of salt and 350 kg of colour powder, as part of a voter awareness programme on the college campus on Wednesday. The rangoli depicted the web page of the Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer. About 120 students of the college spent about 15 hours to create the rangoli with awareness slogans on the #TN100 per cent campaign. Collector K.S. Palanisamy inspected the rangoli and appreciated the efforts of the students. He inaugurated the pasting of awareness stickers on college vehicles. He administered a pledge to the students declaring their commitment to exercise their franchise. He said efforts were being made to ensure that all those who have attained 18 years of age were enrolled in the voters list.

College Chairman P.S.K.Periyasamy was present.

Meanwhile, he has written to all college principals asking them to ensure that all students above the age of 18 were enrolled in the voters list. Students can enrol their names using their college identity cards through the website:http://elections.tn.gov.in
