Tamil Nadu girl commits suicide after alleged failure to clear NEET

A 17-year-old girl of Uthamarkoil, on the outskirts of Tiruchi, committed suicide on Wednesday night allegedly dejected over her failure to clear the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to medical and dental courses..

Police said Subashree, daughter of Kannan, was found hanging in one of the rooms in her house late on Wednesday. She was rushed to a private hospital but was declared 'brought dead'.

Subashree was said to have been depressed over the past two days, apparently due to her failure to clear NEET, police said.

She is the second student to commit suicide in Tamil Nadu allegedly due to failure in clearing NEET this year.
