Two held for involvement in theft cases

Two persons who were allegedly involved in theft cases were arrested by the Somarasampet police near here on Sunday.

Seven cooking gas cylinders, a laptop and stolen cash amounting to Rs.4.3 lakh were seized from the duo–S.Ponnar (47) and V.Sankar (23) who were later remanded in judicial custody.

Police sources said the two gained entry into a pickle manufacturing firm at Sunnambukaranpatty after breaking open the front door and made away with the cylinders a few days ago.

The sources said they stole a laptop from a man at Vayalur and decamped with huge amount of cash which they stole from a house in Woraiyur area here.
