Training in natural farming

A nine-day training in natural farming, organised by the Isha Agro Movement got under way at the SRM Medical College campus near here on Saturday.

Farmers participating in the workshop will be trained in various aspects of natural farming, including preparation of inputs, enriching soil and value addition, according to a press release from the organisers.

Subhash Palekar, natural farming expert, inaugurated the workshop in the presence of Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, founder, Isha Foundation, and others. R. Doraikkannu, Minister for Agriculture, and Vellamandi N. Natarajan, Minister for Tourism, also visited the workshop.

Speaking on the occasion Mr.Jaggi Vasudev said around 3000 farmers were participating in the workshop and the Isha Foundation was planning to promote natural farming in an intensive way.
