TMMK members protest shirtless

Members of Tamizhaga Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK) staged a demonstration in Tiruchi on Monday demanding international inquiry into the killings of Tamils in Sri Lanka. The demonstrators, who were shirtless, were led by their party leader John Pandian. They demanded action against Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa for the war crimes committed against Eelam Tamils and to impose economic sanctions on the island nation. A group of lawyers staged a demonstration in front of the Combined Court Complex on the Sri Lankan issue. Meanwhile, the indefinite fast by a section of students of Government Law College, Tiruchi, entered the seventh day on Monday.
