Tiruchi junction records 36 mm. rainfall

Tiruchi city and parts of the district received intermittent and slight showers on Tuesday. The rain for the second consecutive day resulted in a sharp drop in temperature.

On Monday, several parts of the district received moderate showers with Tiruchi Junction recording the maximum of 36 mm during the 24-hour period ending at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

The following is the amount of rainfall recorded in other parts of the district during the same period (in mm): Navalur Kottapattu 28.30; Kallakudi 27.20; Golden Rock 27; Samayapuram 25; Tiruchi Town 24.80; Ponnaniyar Dam 24.60; Pullampadi 23.40; Lalgudi 23.10; Thathaiyengarpet 20; Devimangalam 15.20; Tiruchi Airport 14.60; Nandhiyar Head 14; Manapparai 13.60; Sirugudi 11 and Thuraiyur 11 each; Thenparanadu 12; Pulivalam and Kuppampatti 10 each. The district received an average rainfall of 16.03 mm.
