Students interact with scientists

More than 150 students from 14 schools had the opportunity to determine their scientific calibre at the DST-INSPIRE (Department of Science and Technology - Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research) internship Camp at the St.Joseph’s College.

During the five-day camp that concluded recently, science students of class XI and XII interacted with more than 10 scientists and received career guidance in the field of research and innovations.

Bhatnagar awardees and other eminent scientists mentored the students. A team led by programme coordinator Francis Xavier enabled the hands-on laboratory sessions.

The students displayed their competency in the exhibition.

Dean, School of Biological Science, St. Joseph’s College, Senthil Kumar, said the emphasis during the internship camp was on excellence.

S.Arumugam, Director, Centre for Distance Education, Bharathidasan University, spoke.
