SSLC examination commences at 143 centres

SSLC public examination commenced at 143 centres across the educational districts of Tiruchi, Lalgudi and Musiri on Wednesday. There were 533 absentees. Of the 39,757 registered candidates, 21,366 were girls. Collector Jayashree Muralidharan visited a few centres, including government schools at Thiruvellarai and Pulivalam. The first day of the SSLC exam coincided with the last exam for Plus Two students.

The school education department will initiate valuation of Plus Two dummy (science subjects and mathematics) papers on Thursday. For non-dummy (languages) papers, the valuation commenced on Tuesday, Chief Educational Officer K. Selvakumar said.

A total of 25 inmates of the four central prisons in the State appeared for the SSLC public examinations at the centre set up at the Tiruchi Central Prison.

Prisoners

The State school education department for the first time set up a special centre at the Tiruchi central prison for the inmates of the central prisons at Tiruchi, Coimbatore, Salem and Palayamkottai.

A total of 13 candidates who took the Tamil first paper examination today were from the Central Prison, Coimbatore, while five were from Tiruchi Central Prison, four from Palayamkottai and three from Salem.
