“Shift the garbage dumping yard”

The ‘Perunthalaivar Kamaraj Thyagi Arunachalam Congress Peravai’ has urged the city corporation to shift the garbage dumping yard from Ariyamangalam to an alternative site.

A resolution adopted to this effect at its consultative meeting held here on Sunday, referred to the serious health hazard caused by the dump and pleaded for its immediate shift. B. Mayilvahanan, district president of the peravai, said the meeting discussed the arrangements for the visit of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to the city.
