PMK condemns price rise

Cadre of the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) staged demonstrations in Tiruchi and other districts in the central region on Tuesday condemning the hike in the prices of essential commodities.

The agitation was part of the state wide stir by the party.

The demonstrations in Tiruchi were held near the Collectorate in the city and at Musiri Kai Katti.

Similar stirs were held at Perambalur, Ariyalur and in six places in Nagapattinam districts including Nagapattinam, Sirkazhi, Mayiladuthurai, Keezhvelur and Vedaranyam.

Thanjavur

PMK cadre staged a demonstration in front of the Railway Junction here on Tuesday.

They decried the State Government for failing to control rising prices. State deputy general secretary of the party S.M. Murthy led the demonstration.

In Kumbakonam, another State deputy general secretary of the PMK G. Aalayamani led the demonstration near the Gandhi Park.
