As they celebrate the release of Kaala

The sound of drum beats and crackers rent the air even before the crack of dawn as the much anticipated Rajinikanth-starrer Kaala hit the screens in the city on Thursday.

With boisterous fans celebrating the release of yet another movie of the ‘superstar,’ a festive mood prevailed at cinemas screening it. In Tiruchi city, the movie is being screened in LA Cinemas, Sona Mina Theatres, Manghalam Cinemas, Oorvasi and Star Theatres.

Ardent fans watched the ‘first day, first show’ of the film, as early as 4.30 a.m. As the fans stepped out after the show, those waiting outside eagerly made enquiries about the film. Bubbling with enthusiasm fans entered the cinemas, which reverberated with thunderous applause once Rajinikanth appeared on screen.

“The film exceeded our expectation and thalaivar’s

performance is mind-blowing. The background score is fantastic,” said K. Senthilkumar, an employee with a private company, who watched the opening show of the film at LA Cinemas.

A big hoarding of Rajinikanth erected near the entrance of Oorvasi Theatre attracted the attention of passers-by even as the fans were busy taking selfies in front of it. Some fans had come to the theatre in Kaala costume wearing black shirt, black dhoti, and sporting white beard.
