Nurture spirit of innovation, Tamil Nadu Governor tells schools

The educational institutions should nurture the spirit of innovation and creativity, said K. Rosaiah, Governor of Tamil Nadu.

The teachers should bring about a transformation in students.

The quality and extent of achievement of student-learners was determined by teachers, Mr. Rosaiah said while speaking at a function to declare open the main block of Mount Zion International School, here on Tuesday.

Quality should be a multidimensional concept. It not only denotes standard of education, but also quality in teaching, methodology, and technology.

The present day world was full of competitiveness. Training the students in various fields for developing their overall personality was the order of the day. The educational institutions should take it as their onerous responsibility to instil in students the qualities of leadership, character, courage, camaraderie, discipline, secular outlook, and spirit of adventure, Mr. Rosaiah added. The Governor gave away outstanding alumni awards.

Jayabarathan Chelliah, correspondent, Mount Zion International School (CBSE), presided over the function. Jonathan P. Jayabarathan, director and Florence Jayabarathan, vice-chairperson, Mount Zion Educational Institutions, offered felicitations.
