Major Saravanan remembered

Homage was paid to Kargil war martyr Major M. Saravanan with military officers and civilians paying their respects on the occasion of his 16{+t}{+h}death anniversary here on Friday.

A solemn ceremony was organised in remembrance of the “Hero of Batalik” by Major Saravanan Memorial Trust in the city.

Colonel S.K. Sharma, Commanding Officer, 117 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) The Guards, Commissioner of Police Sanjay Mathur, Principal District and Sessions Judge C. Ragavan, and Colonel K.B. Jairaj, Group Commander, NCC Group Tiruchi, laid wreaths at the memorial and paid their respects to the Kargil war hero. National Cadet Corps cadets offered floral tributes to Major Saravanan who died during the Kargil war in 1999.
