Loans sanctioned at outreach programme

Hundreds of beneficiaries were issued loan sanction letters during the a customer outreach programme organised by State Bank of India in Tiruchi on Thursday.

Collector S. Sivarasu distributed the sanction letters to some of the beneficiaries in the presence of B. Sankar, General Manager, SBI, Chennai Circle, P.Sabira Barveen, Regional Manager, SBI, and other officials.

Objective

The two-day programme, organised as the per a directive of the Department of Financial Services, Union Ministry of Finance, was aimed at raising awareness among the public and target groups and providing them access to credit including retail, agriculture, self help group finance, MSME loans and restructuring, car, home,education, personal and consumer loans.

Around 30 member banks and non-banking finance companies and micro finance institutions participated in the second phase of the programme, a SBI press release said.

About 1,168 beneficiaries were sanctioned ₹60.33 crore of loans till forenoon on the first day, the release added.
