“Students should not forget the role played by teachers”

Women can play an important role in weaning away men from drinking habit said R.T. Panneerselvam, Deputy Director, Directorate of Collegiate education, here on Monday.

Delivering the convocation address at Kundavai Nachiyar Government Arts College for Women, Mr. Pannerselvam said that law enforced by government can help to some extent to keep people away from drinking. But besides law and government women can put an end to drinking liquor and ensure total prohibition in the State.

Moreover, he said that degrees gained by the students are not easily earned. Parents and teachers played a major role in making them graduates. The students should not forget this.

He distributed degrees to 738 graduates, 229 post graduates and 20 M. Phil students in the convocation. R. Devaki, Principal of the college participated.
