Passengers travelling to destinations beyond Tiruchi in the Coimbatore – Mayiladuthurai Jan Shatabdhi Express were taken by surprise on Wednesday morning when the train was terminated at Tiruchi Junction owing to “line block” for carrying out track relaying work between Tiruchi and Thanjavur.

The express train arrived at Tiruchi Junction at around 10.50 a.m. and was terminated at the station taking the passengers by surprise.

A group of passengers assembled in front of the station manager’s room demanding that alternative arrangements be made for them for their onward journey.
