Have Va.Ve.Su.Iyer’s photograph? Share it

The Department of Information and Public Relations has appealed to the public to come forward to donate photographs of freedom fighter Va.Ve.Su.Iyer for being displayed at his memorial at Varaganeri in the city.

A memorial for Varaganeri Venkatesa Subramania Iyer, referred to as Varaganeri Singam, has been set up at Varaganeri and has been handed over to the Department of Public Libraries to be run as a public library. Already some rare photographs of Va.Ve.Su.Iyer, who was in the forefront of the freedom movement, especially the non-cooperation movement, are on display at the memorial. Besides, about 25,000 books were available, the department said in a release. Rare picture of Va.Ve.Su.Iyer, if available with anyone, could be handed over to the department for being displayed at the memorial.
